Are You Thinking Of Renting A Limousine For Your Wedding

newlywed bride getting into a limousineHave you ever rented a limousine?  Are you planning on getting a limousine for taking you from your wedding ceremony to the reception? Limos are a fun part of being in the bridal party.  You don’t get that many opportunities in life to attend black tie events.  Black tie events like weddings are worthy of high class luxurious accommodations.

But before you get all excited and book the first limousine company you come across, you should ensure that you are going to get best value in the limo service you plan to hire. Put some thought into it first.  Here is some advice.

First, I strongly suggest you get some basic information from at least three different companies before committing to one.  If you did find a company that’s offering competitive rate, you should consider going down and having a look at the vehicle. This is to make sure that the vehicle you have in mind is the same vehicle that’s going to turn up on the day you need it.  The company might have pictures of the latest and fanciest limousines on their website.  That gives you the impression that those are the limos that are going to show up.  But, what if they show up in an outdated limousine that lacks the kind of classiness you are assuming they are going to project?

Furthermore, you might want to ask if the driver is drug tested and trained as required.  You would be surprised at the stories I have heard about some limo drivers.  If you’re not careful, you and your wedding party might not be the only ones celebrating with a little booze after the ceremony.

Ask the limousine companies about hidden charges.  See if they are going to charge you for making any other stops.  Ask them how much of a tip their driver is going to be expecting.  The tip is something that you will be guessing about.  People will throw different numbers at you.  You want to be sure you are paying enough to appease the driver while at the same time not going too far overboard.

Another good idea is to make sure you pick up some Champagne ahead of your wedding day.  Keep it in your car in a portable cooler until the limousine arrives.  Then stash that puppy right in the limo so you guys can start celebrating right after the ceremony ends.  Yee haw!
